Roger Dubuis: Velvet Secret Heart

Nowadays, more and more women are looking for watches combining aesthetic and high technicality. To satisfy this need, Roger Dubuis created the first ever complication to enrich the Velvet collection – the new Velvet Secret Heart with a bi-retrograde jumping date.

As its name says, the watch harbours a ‘secret’ heart that remains hidden : the new mechanical self-winding RD821B movement, whose double-retrograde date function makes an ideal match for the classic tonneau shape of the Velvet collection. In the marine blue dial, two arcs of a circle bear the Arabic date numerals that in turn frame radiating Roman numerals. In the white gold 36mm case, two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds frame the bezel and the inner bezel ring, surrounding the two arcs and the tonneau-shaped centre.

A blue alligator leather strap matching the shade of the dial complements the elegant and feminine design of the model, produced in eight pieces exclusively sold in the brand’s boutiques.

Roger Dubuis also offers a more low-key, non-limited automatic counterpart that features a similar visual appeal but confines the setting to the inner bezel ring and foregoes the bi- retrograde date function.
