Description
In 1979, evoking the sport of the same name practised by the international jet set, one of Piaget’s most iconic watches was born: the Polo. A model that bore witness to an era and a society in which elegance was declined through shapes and styles that challenged the traditional norms of luxury. A famous companion on the wrist of figures such as: Andy Warhol, Bjorn Borg Roger Moore, Ursula Andress, Steve Martin and Miles Davis.
The example we are presenting today reflects all the experience and emphasis Piaget put into creating the most elegant “jewellery timepieces”. It’s the Piaget Polo reference 9131 C725 made in the 1980s. This watch captures all the attention through its luminous band decoration, in which polished white gold elements alternate with gold elements embellished with pavé diamonds. The 25mm square case is secured by four screws at the main corners and features the same motif as the bracelet.
The bracelet, also in 18-carat white gold, is integrated and its composition makes it enveloping and incomparably comfortable. Inside is the extra-flat manual calibre 9P2, an evolution of the brand’s most renowned and important movement, the 9P. It has 86 components, 18 jewels, a frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour (A/h) and a power reserve of 36 hours in a height of just 2.15 millimetres. The watch is in excellent condition and is ready to accompany you on a special occasion or gala evening. Last but not least, it is accompanied by archive extracts and the exclusive WATCH INSANITY set.
