Description
The Luminor Marina models represent the evolution of timepieces designed for the Italian Navy. Characterized by a case with a crown-protecting bridge, they have always been synonymous with high resistance and robustness. Their “minimal” design, featuring high-visibility dials with a two-piece “sandwich” structure, enlarged bezels, and reliable mechanical movements, has made them— and continues to make them—icons of sports watchmaking.
The timepiece we present is the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00004, Series “B.” It features a 44mm stainless steel case coated with PVD treatment, reference 6500. Its structure is defined by the iconic lever-operated crown guard, which, along with the screw-down case back, ensures water resistance up to 30 ATM/300 meters. The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating.
The design follows the classic “sandwich” configuration, with a small seconds subdial positioned at 9 o’clock. The black dial stands out with its tritium-filled Arabic numerals and indices, while the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova to enhance readability further.
The movement is the OP II caliber, a hand-wound mechanical movement, COSC-certified chronometer. Based on the ETA 6497-2, it operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The balance wheel is equipped with an Incabloc shock protection system and offers a power reserve of 56 hours.
The Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00004 blends tradition and functionality in a single timepiece. This is the perfect model for those seeking a technical, historical, and bold watch. It is in excellent condition and comes with the exclusive Watch Insanity set!
