Jaeger-LeCoultre: Rendez-Vous Sonatina Large
31 January 2017What horological function could be more feminine tham providing the reminder of a “Rendez-Vous”, an appointment, to the modern woman, always in a rush? Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmakers knew it well, as in 2012 they created the so-called Rendez-Vous collection, an elegant line dedicated to women.
This year at SIHH the Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux unveiled a number of new timepieces in this collection, including the Rendez-Vous Sonatina Large in white gold with a marvelous dial of amethyst shades and brilliant cut diamonds adorning its bezel.
This model features a new function: it chimes at the appointed hour of the “rendez-vous”, thanks to a mysterious little star that can be moved around the dial. The delicate tinkle of a single hammer strike is audible at the selected time. When it is set using the top crown, this innovative feature comes as a surprise to the ear and explains the name Sonatina, a musical term for a short melody.
The white gold 38.2mm case hosts Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new 735 Calibre automatic movement.
In the dial of amethyst shades brilliant cut diamonds adorn its bezel, lugs and the rim of its case, while the alligator leather ton-sur-ton strap with a folding buckle has an interchangeable system strap
