IWC Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch
With an amazing 55mm case diameter, the Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch 55 becomes the largest wristwatch ever made at IWC in Schaffhausen.
This new timepiece eclipses a record that was set back in 1940 with the historic Big Pilot’s Watch, that was 52mm.
Thinking about the modern ideas of aesthetics and comfort, IWC will produce also a smaller version, with “only” 48mm diameter, the Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch 48.
The two new models are unmistakably inspired by the original Big Pilot’s Watch from 1940, from the dial design and color of the luminescent numerals to the shape of the propeller-like hands, cone-shaped crown and historic leather straps.
The Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch 55 features a 55mm diameter titanium case and manual winding movement. It will be produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
The Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch 48’s case is in titanium as well, it measures 48mm and encloses a manual winding movement. The 8 days power reserve is displayed though a small sapphire glass opening on the case back. It will come in a limited edition of 1000 pieces.
