Girard-Perregaux: Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock
12 October 2020As new as it is, the Absolute collection already feels like it’s part of the Watch Insanity family. In recent months we have been lucky enough to discover some of the most beautiful watches in this line, such as the first chrono version in titanium and the Light, the flagship sapphire model of this family. Fortunately, even the most ROCK part was not lacking … In fact, if you remember well, recently we also presented the Absolute Rock aboard a beautiful Shelby Cobra 427 from 1965.
From Rock To Crystal Rock
Maintaining the same characteristics of the Rock version, Girard-Perregaux presents the Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock, a new chronograph also with a 44m carbon glass case but with white details. This high-tech material that combines layers of carbon fibre and and fibreglass which makes the watch more resistant and lighter. The result is a matte case with a slightly textured finish weighing just 94 grams.
Also for this version a sandwich-type construction is used for the dial with the upper layer in gradient gray and the lower one in black-or. The chronograph is endowed with three snailed registers which sit below the upper dial layer, while a minute track is presented on a flange encircling the dial, thereby aiding readability. Inside, the in-house caliber GP03300-1058 with 46 hours of power reserve.
In order to optimise wearer comfort, the Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock is presented on a grey rubber strap featuring a fabric effect motif and incorporating coordinating grey stitching. The folding black titanium buckle is equipped with a micro adjustment system which allows the wearer to fine tune the sizing of the strap, thereby granting the optimal wrist fit.
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Crystal Rock is limited to 100 pieces and is available worldwide from October 2020 at the price of € 17.300.
