Qlocktwo @ Big Apple Design “Milan Design Week 2017”
4 April 2017QLOCKTWO: READING THE TIME
A matrix of 110 characters arranged in a square forms the basis of every Qlocktwo. Behind these letters, 110 pure white LEDs can be switched on to illuminate individual letters, which form words that describe the time in five-minute intervals. From Baselworld 2017 Qlocktwo is available in 6 different sizes.
The idea was born in 2009 from two friends, Marco Biegert and Andreas Funk, in a small village close to Stuttgart; the clocks are entirely produced in Germany, and already won more than twenty international awards, like the Red Dot Design Award, ADC Europe’s Gold Award, and IF Design Award.
Evolving through the years the brand started using acrylic glass covers, and more recently steel panels engraved with laser; the more complicated ones are even handmade, true unique pieces numbered and signed by the designers.
The phenomenon exploded in Europe and all around the World, also thank to the fact that Biegert & Funk exhibited their creations in some of the most prestigious design events like Maison&Objet in Paris and Ambiente in Frankfurt.
No hands, no numbers: the time of Qlocktwo arrives for the first time in Milan, during the Design Week.
Starting from today until the 9th of April, the Qlocktwo team will welcome you in the 5 Streets District, at the Big Apple Design store in Piazza Mentana 3.
