Description
The continuous quest for mechanical and aesthetic excellence and a history made up of references that have become true icons over time make Patek Philippe one of the most exclusive and beloved watchmakers among enthusiasts.
The watch you can see in the photos embodies the technical and aesthetic values of the Maison. It is a 2006 item, the Reference 5070’s second series, a family of hand-wound chronographs for which Patek Philippe resumed production in 1998. Production of the second series of the Reference 5070 began in 2002 and ended in 2008. It features a 42 mm rose gold case with a silver dial and black graphics, a seconds scale accurate to the fifth, and a tachymeter scale inside the chapter ring. The counters, the 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, are large and centered so that the dial is balanced. The heart of the watch is the Lemania-based manual caliber CH 27-70, with a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of about 60 hours. It can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. Reference 5070 is the last chronograph from Patek Philippe to encase Lemania-based calibres.
The overall condition is excellent, with the dial, case, lugs, crown and case back showing no obvious signs of wear. The watch is fitted with the original alligator strap and rose gold buckle, and comes with the original box & papers.
